Shizuoka Umegashima Cha

YODA KENTAROU TEA

Minimum order amount - 18000 Japanese yen.

Farmer Yoda Kentarou is cultivating and producing an organic tea in a mountainous region Umegashima, in the upstream of the river Abe, it is a tea garden Honiama in the north of Shidzuoka prefecture. Umegashima is considered to be the most high-mountain region of planting tea in Japan. The tea gardens are situated at a height of 800 metres above the sea level. The high mountainous environmental conditions have four ideal factors that create a special aroma and flavour of the mountainous tea. 1. Short light day and natural opacity. All this gives "natural Gyokuro tea" a sweet taste.

2. A good soil drainage, abundance of pure mountainous water and frequent fogs encourage the tea leaves to grow and to accumulate moderate astringency.

3. A big and sharp contrast of day and night temperature. It creates a fragrant mountainous aroma.

4. An aboriginal tea Zairai has a very good root system. A cultivating of the tea in a rigorous climate allows to cultivate an organic tea with a special flavour and aroma.

We name this tea "Farmer's Tea".
